Santa Mini Album

Over the years I have accumulated a large selection of Santa prints and images. I have taken a few of them and put them in a mini album so I can enjoy looking at them without having to shuffle through a box to see them.

I have used one of the fabulous album kits from Red Rubber Designs. This one is the Woodrowe Keepsake Album Kit. It come with lots of printed pages and accessories. You just punch them out and create making it a quick and easy process.

For the front of the album, I have paper pieced the large tree from the Brushed Christmas rubber stamp set using paper from the album kit. The background script behind the tree is a stamp from the Vintage Santa rubber stamp set.

I stamped the versatile little evergreen sprig from the Holiday Wreath rubber stamp set in the corners with black ink and then embellished with a glitter pen and gold half beads. Again, the bg stamp is from Vintage Santa.

Using the same evergreen sprig stamp, I made a garland down the side of the page embossing with gold ep.

I used the script stamp from Vintage Santa  on the patterned paper and the music stamp from Vintage Background  on the green paper.

The wonderful Thomas Nast Santa is one of my favorite stamps and is from the Vintage Santa rubber stamp set. If you look closely at the lower edge (behind the evergreen), I have stamped the year 1881. That was the year that this illustration was first published in Harper's Magazine. It is the most famous and most reproduced of Nast's Santas.

Love and Peace are from the Brushed Christmas rubber stamp set and the script bg is from the Vintage Santa set.

I have used the ink splotch stamp from the Fly Fairy rubber stamp set on these pages.  All the tags and frames are included with the Woodrowe Keepsake Album Kit.

On the back of the album I stamped the script from the Vintage Santa set (it seems to be my new go to stamp) and the smaller tree from the Brushed Christmas set.

Pocket Album

When shopping at the Red Rubber Designs store, I came across an item that I thought would be the base for a quick and easy album. The item is called Pockets and Pieces.  It consists of 5 sheets of heavyweight cardstock punch outs. Each sheet contains 1 each of the pockets that you see below as well as a ton of different shaped tabs.

These pockets can easily be inked, stamped on, embossed, covered with paper or any other way you would like to finish them.

For my album, I chose to ink the outside and line the inside with patterned paper from the Sands of Time Patterned Cardstock Collection.

The smaller pockets I also inked and added to the back of the larger pockets. The large tags will fit inside of the larger pockets.

I made the cover out of chipboard covered with more of the Sands of Time paper and bound the album with 3/4" Cinch Binding Wire in silver.

Here are a few of the things that I will put in my album. The small shells and sand dollars were made with the Mini Shells Rubber Stamp Set.  The tags are included in the Sands of Time Patterned Cardstock Collection as well as the letter stickers.  The photo stamps I made in PSE with my personal travel photos.

If you hurry, you can snag a set of the Pockets and Pieces while they are still on sale at Red Rubber Designs.

Accordion Album

Tuesday on the Red Rubber Designs blog I posted a tutorial to show how to assemble the Natalee Accordion Album Kit. Today I am going to show you my finished album.

In the tutorial I showed the belly band that was included in the kit but I changed my mind at the last minute to make the cover a little more interesting.

I enjoyed creating a collage out of flowers, chipboard pieces, and metal trinkets to grace the cover.

On the right is a faux cabinet card.  The moth has sparkle on the veins that did not pick up in the photo.

Have you ever saved some images until just the right paper turned up for your project?  That is the case with these beautiful young ladies from Paper Whimsy.  When I saw this album and the companion paper, Angelee, I knew that the match had been made. Now if I only had a few more of the images, I could complete the back of the tags!  Some day...

The ribbon on the dark colored tag was heated to crinkle it and give it a vintage look.  The bee has an extra set of vellum wings for definition.

Stamped below this image are the words "beautiful SOUL" from the stamp set by the same name.  I didn't use any gesso or sprays or paints on this album...I didn't want to cover up the beautiful papers.

The printed captions on some of the images are also from Paper Whimsy.

I hope you enjoyed the (almost) completed album and will give one a try yourself.
This album kit as well as many other scrapbooking papers and supplies are on sale for a few more days.  Be sure and take advantage of the savings at Red Rubber Designs.
