Red Rubber Designs Blog Hop and Contest

This is a very special blog hop this evening. We are spotlighting a cute Easter stamp set, having a contest and doing some spring housecleaning so that we can bring you some exciting opportunities in the near future. So sit back and enjoy Red Rubber Designs' last blog hop.

The spotlight set this month is Easter Chicks a cute little stamp set with the traditional Easter basket, eggs, and chicks.  I have used the basket, egg images, and greeting from this set for a wall hanging.

The hanging measures 20 inches long by 4 inches wide.

The images were stamped with Palette Ink in raw sienna and colored with TH distress pens.

I did not have oval doilies so I die cut round ones, cut them in half and improvised.

The eggs sparkle thanks to a slathering of Stickles. All papers used are from the Sands of Time Patterned Cardstock Collection.

Our Contest
You have a chance to win the spotlight stamp set by entering our contest.  All you have to do is guess the number of candies in the dish in the picture.

Send your guess to contest@RedRubberDesigns.com along with a link to your blog (if you have one). Contest ends Sunday, March 10 at midnight CST.  Good Luck!

Just in case you missed a stop along the way, here is the blog roll:

You can find guidelines for donating cards here.

Our featured stamp set this month is a sweet little set called Wonder and Joy.

Red Rubber Designs Blog Hop

It is time again for the Red Rubber Designs Blog Hop which features the spotlight stamp set for January, Victorian Hearts.
Victorian Hearts
This stamp set immediately brought to mind the beautiful Victorian valentines that featured cut out papers and soft designs.
I used a large Spellbinders die to cut the cardstock then folded to form the card. I used the next smaller sized die for the cream colored layer.  I stamped the four different hearts using Palette inks in Noir, Jardin Moss and Moulin Rouge.
Inks as well as cardstock available from Red Rubber Designs.

  1. Pick out your favorite stamp set from the featured stamp sets found here.

RRD Blog Hop and Contest

It is the first Thursday of the month and time for  the Red Rubber Designs Monthly Blog Hop and Contest. The theme for this month is "Floral Design" and we will be featuring floral stamps all month in anticipation of the beginning of Spring.
The Spotlight Stamp for the month of December is "Flowers and Holly".  This set will be available all month at a 40% discount.

Flowers and Holly

When I first saw this stamp set, it reminded of vintage botanical prints so I created with that idea in mind.

Sunflower
I stamped the image, colored with distress markers, masked and stamped the background with the script stamp from Vintage Santa stamp set. I framed the image with dry embossed brown cardstock.

Holly
I randomly added black ink to the embossed areas and brushed gold ink on the embossing around the image.

Hibiscus
Four tiny brads grace the corners.

I am very pleased with my results...love it when a plan comes together.

To finish off the cards, I embossed the back. I used a fold of writing paper on the inside.

Don't forget about the contest. You can win the Spotlight Stamp set by correctly guessing the total number of flowers in this arrangement.
For more details, see the Red Rubber Designs blog.

RRD Blog Hop and Contest

The focus this month for Red Rubber Designs will be "Holidays in Winter".  The Design Team will be working on projects to help prepare you for the busy season that is ahead.

As you know we feature the Spotlight Stamp on our monthly blog hop and show you ways to use it from different perspectives. This evening all eyes are on this timeless stamp "Twinkle in the Eye".

For my project I have tried metal etching. The one thing that I did learn is to use solid copper (which I did not have on hand) rather than copper plate. The end results were a little different than I had expected but I worked with it anyway. Here is my fabric collage winter wall hanging.

I used several different fabrics, coffee dyed canvas and cotton batting.

Here is a closeup so you can see the etching better.

Along with the blog hop, don't forget that we have a contest for you this month, too. You can win "Twinkle in the Eye" for your holiday crafting by correctly guessing the number of snowflakes that drifted on my workspace.  See the RRD blog for details.

Here is your blog roll so that you can go see what the other gals have created.

I am entering this in the Anything But a Card challenge.

Lovely Peony Blog Hop and Contest

Once again it is time for the First Thursday blog hop and contest at Red Rubber Designs. This day is always fun because not only do you get to see new stamp releases but you also get to see several different ways to use the same stamp set as presented by the Design Team.  This month's Spotlight stamp set is Lovely Peony.

Lovely Peony
This set will be available all month at a 40% discount. You can check out all of the other featured stamp sets here.

In anticipation of World Card Making Day on October 6th, the Design Team is taking on the task of making cards today. Not only are we making a card but we are also decorating an envelope to match.

My card features the cracked glass technique to give it a vintage look. I used the background stamp Beauty of a Woman and the Spotlight stamp Lovely Peony.

On the inside of the card I used a sentiment from the Lovely Peony set as well as the small peony from the focal stamp.

For the envelope, I stamped the Peony, masked it and stamped the background with the same script that I stamped on the card. The address boxes are die cuts.

This month Red Rubber Designs is one of the proud sponsors of the 3rd annual Hope You Can Cling To event at SplitCoastStampers! Each October, SCS partners with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for a month long card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer. You can find out more about this event here.

Would you like a chance to win the Lovely Peony stamp set?  All you have to do is leave a comment on each Design Team member's blog. One name will be chosen from the "mystery" blog. I wonder which blog that will be! Contest ends Sunday, October 7th at midnight CDT.

Altered Altoid Tin and a Blog Hop

It is the first Thursday of September and time for a blog hop, new stamp releases and a contest all from Red Rubber Designs.  Nostalgia and vintage will be the focus this month...right up my alley!

A few months ago, my junkin' buddy Robin and I scored a whole grocery bag full of various mint and candy tins at a flea market for a mere $2.00!  I decided it was time to put one of them to good use. (I only have about 40 more to go.)

I covered the tin with paper from the Angelee Patterned Cardstock Collection and some measuring tape printed twill ribbon.

I stamped and paper pieced several of the stamps from this months featured rubber stamp set Sew Thankful.

I lined the inside of the box with one of the pretty patterns from the same paper collection as the outside of the tin and the vintage sewing machine from the featured stamp set.  I decided to fill the box with sweet treats since I had stamped the sentiment "you're sew Sweet" on the lid.  An Altoid tin holds 6 Dove treats perfectly.  There is plenty of time to fill it with items for a travel size sewing set after the treats are gone...which will probably be tomorrow!

Be sure to give us your best guess as to how many spools of thread are in this canning jar:

RRD First Thursday Christmas in August Blog Hop

We have an exciting month in store for you at Red Rubber Designs. It is going to be all about Christmas. We would like to start the month with a blog hop to show you the different ways the Design Team has used our Spotlight Stamp, Holiday Wreath.

Holiday Wreath
Spotlight Stamps are always 40% off with any order. Want to see all of the featured releases for August?  You can find them here.

We also have a little contest for you tonight.
It looks like one of Santa's elves has been causing a little mischief in the workshops and craft areas of our Design Team members.  Look closely at each project on the hop and you will see that said elf has left a little image of his jolly employer on one of the Design Team member's creation.

Find the picture of Santa then let us know where you found it (whose blog).
Email your name and the name of the blog where you found the picture of Santa to contest@RedRubberDesigns.com .
Every correct answer will be entered into a random draw for the Spotlight Stamp Holiday Wreath.
Contest ends Sunday, August 5 at midnight (CDT).  Good luck.

######################################

Here is my project using the featured stamp Holiday Wreath. I needed a new book for my Christmas card list. I found the wreath stamp to be perfect for the cover.

I dry embossed the cover then inked over it with gold, red, and vintage photo inks. I added a little gold bling and ribbon from the Reese and Woodrow collection. This photo was taken outside and shows the natural softness of the colors.

I took this photo inside with light reflecting off of the gold embossing so you could see how pretty it shines.

The inside has 2 dividers, one for family and the other for friends. All papers are from Red Rubber Designs and are listed with links at the end of the post.

Here is a little ornament that I made with the Holiday Wreath set stamped on white shrink plastic.

Your next stop will be at Creative Stamping with Paula-Kay. Enjoy!

Red Rubber Designs First Thursday and Blog Hop

It is time for another round of new releases of some fabulous stamps sets from Red Rubber Designs.  In addition to new stamps, we have a blog hop and a contest for you.  Each Design Team member is using the same stamp set so you will get lots of ideas on how to use it.

The Spotlight Stamp

Every Leaf

The Contest
Each blog on the hop (except the Red Rubber Designs Blog) has one word that will complete a phrase somewhere in their blog hop post. Once you find all six words (that's a hint!) put them together to form a phrase. You may have to rearrange them a little bit!

Note: The word you need from each blog will be obvious if you read carefully.... it looks just a little different from the rest of the letters!

Once you figure it out, email the phrase to contest@RedRubberDesigns.com and be sure to put your name and email address in the email with the phrase. Every correct answer will be entered into a drawing for the featured stamp set - "Every Leaf" - and one winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!

Contest ends Sunday, July 8th at Midnight (US-CDT).

When looking for a substrate for my project this month, I wanted a book with a sturdy cover, pretty end papers and something cheap because I just wanted to experiment and not ruin a costly book.  Reader's Digest to the rescue. This one 25 cent book met all of my needs.

I stamped the leaves on Kraft cardstock with Palette inks - Raw Sienna, Orangerie and Cognac - then heat embossed them with clear ep and trimmed.

I also made a gift box by randomly stamping the images on Kraft Cardstock.  The leaf embellishment was stamped with Palette Ink - Moulin Rouge then embossed with clear ep and cut out.

You can find all of the other new releases here.

Thanks for visiting today!  As you continue on the blog hop don't forget to collect a word at each stop for your chance to win the Spotlight Stamp of the Month.

Red Rubber Designs Blog Hop - New Stamp Releases - Scavenger Hunt

It is the first Thursday of a new month and time for new stamp releases at Red Rubber Designs! This month the Design Team will be focusing their attention on scrapbooking.  They will be posting layouts, mini albums, journals, embellishment ideas and more using all of the newly released stamp sets. Today, each member of the Design Team will be presenting a scrapbook layout featuring the June Spotlight Stamp Set "Happily Grateful".

We also have a fun contest for you today - a Scavenger Hunt. Each Design Team blog will have a  question about an item or items in the Red Rubber Designs store. Your assignment is to collect all 7 questions then go to the store and find the answers. (You will find my question at the end of this post.)

Once you find the answers to all 7 questions, email your answers, your name and email address to contest@RedRubberDesigns.com. If you answered correctly, your name will be entered into a drawing for the June Spotlight Stamp Set - "Happily Grateful". One winner will be chosen at random.  Contest ends Sunday, June 10th at Midnight (US-CDT).

********************

Okay, now that the obligatory business is out of the way, I would like to show you my scrapbook layout featuring the stamp set "Happily Grateful".

I border punched two pieces of Stardust cardstock and layered them. I made a mask of the leafy branch and inked over it in several areas of my background. I then stamped the branch several times, cut out, turned some over and inked to get a variation in shading.

The centers of my seamstress tissue paper are the little flowers from the featured stamp set. I finished off the flowers with flat brads and pearls.

The butterfly also from the Happily Grateful stamp set was stamped on vellum, glittered, and cut out with those super sharp 4" Kai scissors available in the RRD store.  Little pearls form the body of the butterfly.

********************

There are 9 new stamp releases this month
and I present to you the
 Reinforcers.
Wouldn't these look great embossed?

 T2313 Reinforcers

I know this has been a long post. Thank you for making it this far.
Here is your Scavenger Hunt Question:
There are 35 Palette reinkers.  How many share part of their name with a flower?

Thanks for visiting.  Your next stop on the hop will be Paula-Kay's blog Creative Stamping with PK.
