Created Byhand-Gold
Gold is the subject of today's Created Byhand challenge. For the background I shaded copper colored cardstock with soot black and aged mahogany distress inks then sprayed with gold webbing and immediately added gold embossing powder and heat embossed. Postcard image is stamped on vellum. Embellished with gold ribbon and trim.Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Created Byhand Challenge-Coffins

Creepy Old Guy
We were given a coffin template today on Created Byhand Challenge to make an ATC. I purchased this stamp from a bargain bin not knowing how creepy he looked until I inked it. I did not think I would ever use it but then decided he would be perfect for Halloween. He is stamped on white paper, cut out, and then given the ghostly look by using a vellum overlay. The border is inked cheesecloth and 3 colors of TH distressed embossing powders.

Created Byhand Challenge
It seems that this little bird has found lodging in a First Class envelope. I wonder what kind of rent the USPS charges for that! The Created Byhand Challenge this week is to create something that uses some form of an envelope. I chose an image from one of the new Crafty Secrets booklets-Birds and Botanicals.
Stamps by VLVS, Stampland, Hero Arts, Cornish Heritage Farms and Crafty Secrets.

Created Byhand-Vintage Rose
Our goal today for the Created Byhand Challenge is to create something in pastel tones. I watercolored the rose image, masked it then stamped the background. I applied 3 layers of UTEE and cracked it a few times lightly. I then applied brown Stazon over the entire surface and wiped it off quickly. I added the corner embellishments as a final touch (thanks, Louise). I had originally trashed this project but decided to try and save it....glad I did!

Created Byhand Challenge
Today's challenge is to use only black, gray, and white. I chose art deco corners by Stamping Ground and a goddess (unknown maker) for my main image. Other submissions can be seen at Created Byhand.
