Picture Frame Transformation

One of the items I included in a recent Halloween Matchbox Swap was a small picture frame with a witchy  image in it.  Check out the transformation.

I used a small plastic frame from Michaels $1.50 bin (formerly known as the $ bin).

I painted it with VerDay paint from TenSecondStudio and sprayed it with VerDay patina solution then let it work its magic overnight.  I also treated a plastic key with the same method.

Here is what it looked like the next morning. It went from shiny black plastic to grungy looking metal.
I took out the flimsy acetate in the frame and replaced it with a heavier piece, glued on the key and inserted one of my favorite (free) witchy prints from Land of Nod Studios.

* Disclaimer -  I do not work for nor am I compensated by TenSecondStudio.  I just love their product.

Absolutely glorious transformation, Sarah! You may not work for them, but you should certainly let them know how brilliantly you showcase their products... I can't be the only one with them at the top of my Christmas wishlist (if I don't give in sooner than that)!!

This is stunning, Sarah! A real show-stopper!! Can't believe its a buck 50 frame. I must try this patina stuff. I have been dying to learn how to rust and patina. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your recent comment on being a new Grandma. I can't wait to hold him and see his tiny face. Christmas time can't come soon enough.

This is an amazing transformation! I can't believe that's the same frame from Michaels.

I was going to ask you how you achieved that rusty affect on the frame. By the way that is my favorite piece in the whole box, but I must say that I love it all so much.
