Vintage Thingie Thursday

It's Vintage Thingie Thursday again and time to dig through the cabinets or dust off some treasure from the past to share with you. This week I have another favorite...I have lots of favorites. This is an old spice caddy. It is missing one tin but is in pretty good shape considering its age. I believe it to be from the early 1900's. It has been in my collection of kitchen collectibles for about 35 years and belonged to my mother before that. It is one of those great auction finds.

All of the tins still contain remnants of spices.

The caddy itself is beautifully embossed with dots and flowers on the sides and bottom.

Check out Suzanne's blog by clicking on the VTT button on my sidebar to see more vintage treasures.

Well, I love this...but I have to say if it was mine I'd dump the spices and fill it up with craft stuff! It would look great in my craft room:)

I don't think I've ever seen one of these before. The embossing is beautiful.

Sarah this is beautiful! I love the embossing on the carrier. I have a very plain set with no embossing or handle. Lucky Girl! Love, Jamie

I would never have guess this is
for spices. Too young to remember
something like this but it is cool!

Love the design on the caddy. I'd be tempted to use it to imprint on clay. Very interesting.
