Vintage Thingie Thursday

I have gone to my stash of sewing items to find a few goodies to share for today's Vintage Thingie Thursday. I spent many hours pretending to be a fashion designer with this little Singer and a pile of scrap material. I must say that I had very well dressed dolls considering their garments had holes cut for the arms and seams sewn with only a chain stitch!
The machine is 7" tall and 7" wide.

Manufactured in Great Britain in the 50's and still in perfect condition.

This wonderful piece of cast metal is an advertisement for Wiss scissors. I can imagine it gracing the shelf of a dry goods store. It measures 12" x 7.5" and was a birthday present from my parents.

Hop on over to Suzanne's blog, Coloradolady, to see what vintage treasures others have to offer today. Consider it a shopping trip without having to spend a penny!

Oh, how cute is this! I love the color too. I just love anything vintage sewing and this is a real gem. It is so good you saved it and it looks like it still could sew a doll dress or two! Thanks for posting...be sure to link in at the bottom of my post...don't want anyone to miss this little gem.

I am in love with your sewing machine--pristine condition. You sound just like me sewing for your dolls. My little pink Singer was very different from yours and it did not remain in my possession *sad*. I am always on the look out for one.

My heart skipped a beat or two when I saw your machine! I am so envious! My friend just returned from GB and was telling me of machines like this.

What a cutie that sewing machine is!! I had my first taste of sewing on a little sewing machine, too. What a gift that was to me - I've sewn a million miles since!! Sally

Thanks for the memory! I had a little sewing machine exactly like this one except mine was black! Actually it had been my mother's but she gave it to me in the 60s when I was a child.
